SPECIFICATIONS

DIMENSION: 635mm x 940mm

THICKNESS: 6mm (1/4")

DENSITY: 180 kgs/m3

COMPOSITION: Agglomerated small natural cork particles.

FINISH: Knife sliced, unsanded.

USES: Bulletin boards and underlayment for other floors such as floating floors.

PREPARATION FOR USE

CLIMATIZING: Allow cork to come to room temperature.

BONDING TO ANOTHER SURFACE

SUBSTRATE: Should be solid such as plywood or drywall (sealed, but unpainted).

ADHESIVE: Quality water base contact adhesive such as 3M Latex Bond Contact Cement, Lepage's Latex Contact Cement, or equal. An appropriate latex construction adhesive may be used for holding underlayment in place.

APPLICATION: Apply adhesive as per manufacturer's directions.

FITTING: Lay a plastic sheet over all but starting line when applying cork to the substrate. Line up and press starting edge so cork and substrate are even. Slowly pull plastic away pressing cork to the substrate as the plastic is removed. Trim other edges as necessary with a straight edge and medium duty utility knife.

COMPLETION: Press all surface areas with a firm hand pressure or roll firmly with a rubber "J" roller.

SURFACE FINISH

UNSANDED: Sheet cork has a slight surface texture and minimal markings from veneer knife slicing, but is normally left unsanded.

SANDING: If a smoother surface is desired, the surface may be sanded moderately with a hand sanding block or a 1/4 sheet size palm type sander. The recommended sand paper is 120 grit garnet or aluminum oxide for wood sanding.

IMPORTANT

DO NOT use any oil based or solvent based products on natural cork products.
